Prepaids, Accruals & Deferred Revenue

• Maintain prepaid expense schedules and record monthly amortization entries.
• Identify and record accrued expenses and accrued liabilities each month.
• Maintain deferred revenue schedules, ensure revenue recognition ties to underlying contracts and milestones, and reconcile the deferred revenue balance monthly.

Month-End & Year-End Close

• Lead the monthly close process, including a close checklist, account reconciliations, and supporting journal entries.
• Prepare account reconciliations and variance analysis, and flag anomalies for review.
• Support year-end close activities, including annual reconciliations, 1099 preparation and filing, and coordination with the payroll provider on W-2-related items.
• Support external accountants, auditors, and tax preparers with schedules, documentation, and requested reporting.

Process & Controls

• Follow and help strengthen internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets and maintain data integrity.
• Identify opportunities to improve bookkeeping processes, close timelines, and QuickBooks/Bill.com workflows.
• Assist with ad hoc financial reporting and analysis as requested by finance leadership.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on bookkeeping or staff accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks (QuickBooks Online preferred), with demonstrated experience managing the full accounting cycle.
• Direct experience with Bill.com for accounts payable processing.
• Solid understanding of accrual-basis accounting, including prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and deferred revenue.
• Proven experience owning or substantially supporting monthly close and year-end close processes.
• High attention to detail and a strong record of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience calculating and tracking sales commissions.
• Experience supporting external financial statement audits or tax preparation.
