The Director, Compensation is responsible for leading the organization’s compensation strategy, programs, governance, and related processes. This role ensures compensation programs are competitive, equitable, compliant, financially responsible, and aligned with business objectives. The Director partners with Executive Leadership, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Finance, Legal, HRIS, and business leaders to provide compensation guidance, support annual planning, maintain job architecture, assess market competitiveness, support pay equity, and lead compensation-related initiatives. This position also leads and develops the compensation team.
DIRECTOR, COMPENSATION - POSITION SUMMARY:
- Develop and oversee compensation philosophy, market positioning, program priorities, and long-term strategy.
- Lead broad-based compensation, salary structures, annual compensation planning, promotion and retention programs, pay equity reviews, and incentive programs.
- Provide guidance to leaders on compensation decisions, workforce investments, talent risks, affordability, and policy exceptions.
- Support business growth, acquisitions, integrations, international expansion, and enterprise initiatives as needed.
- Maintain job architecture standards, including job families, career levels, salary bands, and classifications.
- Review and approve significant job structure, leveling, and classification changes.
- Partner with leaders on organization design, workforce planning, and career framework considerations.
- Oversee annual, sales, physician, executive, recognition, retention, and other variable pay programs.
- Review and approve material plan designs, funding recommendations, payouts, and program changes.
