Remote Recruitment is hiring a Document Controller for a UK employer, fully remote from South Africa.

Role overview

You will be the single source of truth for project and company documentation: naming, versioning, issuing and archiving so nobody works from the wrong drawing or the wrong revision. It suits someone precise who dislikes ambiguity.

You will work 09:00-17:00 UK time (11:00-19:00 SAST) from home, with equipment guidance, a proper induction and a manager who is contactable through the day. This is a permanent role, not a short contract.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the document register and control all revisions
• Issue documents to internal teams and external parties on schedule
• Enforce naming, numbering and filing conventions
• Track approvals and keep a clean audit trail
• Archive superseded documents and manage retention
• Support audits with complete, retrievable records

What you'll need

• Two or more years in document control, records or project administration
• Experience with a document system such as SharePoint, Aconex or Viewpoint
• Strong attention to version detail and naming discipline
• Clear written English for issuing and chasing approvals
• Reliable home internet and a quiet space for UK-hours work

Nice to have

• Exposure to ISO 9001 or similar quality standards
• Experience in construction, engineering or energy projects
• Familiarity with CAD drawing registers
