What you’ll do

You will own the roadmap and strategy for two interconnected product areas:

Identity & Access Management

Define and drive the product vision for a unified identity layer that represents a range of digital entities, including internal operations teams, customers, fleet partners, and vehicles. Own strategy and execution of products that determine who can access what across internal systems, customer applications, vehicles, fleet portals, charging infrastructure, and other connected services.

Partner with internal stakeholders to understand their needs around access control, granularity, and flexibility. Translate those needs into product requirements and collaborate with engineering to architect solutions that scale across complex digital ecosystems.

Work with other product managers and business stakeholders to understand how the platform can support their products, who their users are, how they will interact with the system, and what integrations are required. Track delivery, surface interdependencies and roadblocks, and guide the rollout and adoption across digital product teams and vehicle asset managers.

Resource Management

Own the product enabling internal users to track and manage the allocation and use of resources such as vehicle inventory and logistics capacity. Define the intelligent workflows, data models, and integrations that are genuinely useful for the people running daily operations.

Cross-functional Leadership

Partner closely with Security & Compliance, Engineering, Legal, Design, and a range of internal operations and customer-facing teams. Influence and drive architecture decisions without direct authority over engineering. Own the roadmap and direction for engineering priorities within your product area.

Location & Travel Expectations:

• This role will be remote.
• Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

What you’ll bring

7+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years focused on identity, authentication, and access management. Background in enterprise SaaS or large-scale B2B platforms is strongly preferred. Experience operating in regulated environments, particularly those subject to SOC 2 and GDPR compliance requirements, is required.

You should have a track record of shipping technical products that serve multiple internal teams and stakeholders, and comfort navigating both greenfield work and products already at varying stages of development.

Technical Expertise

Deep familiarity with modern identity and access management concepts and technologies, including:

• Zero Trust architecture principles
• Identity providers such as Okta, Azure AD, or equivalent
• Federation protocols (SAML, OIDC) and provisioning standards (SCIM)
• Hybrid access models combining role-based access control (RBAC) and attribute-based access control (ABAC)
• Designing processes and systems for provisioning, maintaining, and auditing access in multi-tenant environments
• Non-human identity patterns, including service accounts and scoped permissioning for AI agents and automated services

You do not need to be an engineer, but you should be fluent enough in these systems to make sound architectural tradeoffs, push back on technical decisions when warranted, and earn the trust of senior engineers.

• Strong product judgment and the ability to develop innovative solutions to abstract and ambiguous problems
• Comfort navigating stakeholder relationships across security, engineering, legal, operations, and commercial teams
• A flexible mindset and the ability to move fluidly between early-stage discovery work and scaling in-flight products
• Scrappy and resourceful, with a strong bias toward action across both 0-to-1 and 1-to-N stages
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to align senior stakeholders around a shared direction
• Comfort owning outcomes in environments where authority is earned through influence rather than reporting lines

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $140,000.00 - $170,000.00

Initial California base salary range = 154,000 - $187,000
